And now I read that Kodak Zi8 is also being discontinued. So what is a non-profit to do? Both companies made their decisions based on the assumption that smart phones (with video) will take over the market. But much of nonprofits video needs aren’t well-suited to shooting with a phone. And what nonprofit can afford to provide their personnel with smartphones? Zoom’s Q3HD is a possibility but it is a pricey $300.

I’ve been working on a documentary about our trip to India and thought seeing some of the video footage might be fun. These are scenes from an early morning trip on the Ganges in Varanasi. We purchased candles that float, releasing them onto the massive river while chanting prayers.  It was an incredible experience.
